Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's goal was to be an actor. At the age of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dancing. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach and school productions when she turned ten. The casting process began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 it set new records for its debut day revenue as well as its opening weekend earnings. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
